At the time Chicken Invaders 2 Next Wave was released it had been well over a decade since the original game. I know that some will look at the title of this game and turn their nose up at it thinking it is stupid.
Well, yes, the game invadegs have a stupid premise, but to me and all the people who like it, that is a huge part of the appeal. The story of the game is a direct sequel to the first game. You saved the Earth from the intergalactic chicken invasion, but now they have their sights set on the whole solar system. They want to take over ten planets including the sun and you need to stop them! This is a lot of fun and I like how Chicken Invaders 2 Next Wave keeps the premise of the first game, fill manages to expand on it fukl a good sequel should.
The visuals of the game are very basic, but this is by design. They have a kind of cartoon look to them and I do like what they have done here. The chickens have a lot of personality to them and I feel that they could have made the cinematic as the premise of the game is crying out for it. What is strange is that the game is locked to 30 FPS, it is not a dealbreaker for me, but I am sure some people may have an issue with it. The sound effects are pretty damn funny the first few times you hear them, but they do repeat quite often.
The soundtrack is also quite repetitive, so this is one of those games where you will probably want your own tunes on as you play. The game is set over ten levels and each level has ten stages.
